Preparing the New Generation of Students

Technology has become increasingly incorporated into the education system as society progresses. It is more important than ever for students and educators to be knowledgeable about the implications of certain technologies on the learning process. Although technology opens a trove of misinformation and consumerism, we must refocus the way we habitualize the usage of technology to benefit students and educators in the way we create, trust, and share ideas.

This website is intended to bring awareness to the importance of technology in everyday life and especially education. With the rising popularity of generative A.I and digital models of learning it is becoming increasingly important to properly prepare the future generations of students and teachers.

From the past to the present there have been transformations and adjustments the school system has made to accommodate to improving technologies. The future is projected to hold countless more technological advancements that will only evolve the way the education system fosters learning in the classrooms.

Here is a time line of educational technology and where it is predicted to be headed in the future:

Salman Khan is an advocate for the use of technology in the classroom, as well as talking about the downsides of too much memorization in classrooms and the flawed grading system. Sal has appeared on multiple TED Talks and was on the 2012 TIME Magazine Person of the Year.

About me

My name is Otilia Gheorghe and I am a junior at John Marshall High School. I chose to study educational technology with Mr. Scott Laleman who is the Head of the Technology Department at Medina Valley ISD.

Technology has been my primary source of information for nearly my whole life. These devices have taught me more about the world than any textbook or lecture because of the limitless information made accessible with the Internet. Everyone must realize how much we rely on these devices for news, information, and entertainment and learn how to use them more effectively and productively, especially within the education system.
